Cyan is the retainer of Doma Kingdom, and he's completely loyal to his kingdom and his lord. He had a wife named Elaine and a son named Owain. When the Empire tried to take over Doma, Cyan fought them off and kept Imperial troops away from the Castle. Kefka, taking the easy way out, decided to poison Doma's water supply. Within moments, everyone in Doma was poisoned to death. Cyan and a soldier were the only ones alive. Cyan, after finding his family dead, joined the Returners in order to take his revenge on the Empire.

The pain of losing his family never left him. In the World of Ruins, he found a girl named Lola who was waiting for her boyfriend to come back from the war. Cyan knew that her boyfriend was dead. Not wanting her to experience the pain he suffered, he wrote letters to her in the name of her boyfriend, keeping her happy living in a lie.

I never use Cyan unless I really have to. He is very slow, his magic stats are very low, and his 'SwdTech' command takes too long to use.
