Skills

Each character has their own unique skill command to aid them in battles. Some characters acquire more skills as you proceed in the game, and you have unlimited usage for all skill commands. The following information will give you an idea of how to acquire skills and the effect of each skill.

( Listed by character - alphabetical order )
Celes - Mog || Relm - Umaro

CELES CHERE - RUNIC
Runic Being the 'Rune Knight', Celes' special skill, Runic, will absorb the next spell cast by either enemies or party members and it will be converted to MPs for her own use. She must have a sword that allows the Runic function equipped to use this skill. This skill is useful in the beginning, but as you proceed with the game, you will find that it does not absorb more powerful spells or spells that attacks all party members.
CYAN GARAMONDE - SWDTECH
SwdTech Cyan have eight different sword techniques that he devised himself through the game. Since Cyan tends to be little slow, you have to wait for him to 'power up' before you can use a sword technique. When you select the SwdTech command, a time bar and numbers 1-8 will appear. Once a number is highlighted, you can use a technique. You can obtain all eight of Cyan's technique when you complete the Cyan's Soul subquest in the World of Ruins.

GAU - RAGE
Rage Gau can Leap at monsters to learn their attacks. On the Veldt you can choose Gau's Leap command. He'll disappear, and you wait on the Veldt until you encounter him in battle again. At that point he'll acquire the skill of the enemy he 'leaped' on earlier, which you can use by selecting the 'Rage' command. There are many monsters that Gau can acquire skills from. You can check the FAQs section for a complete listing.
GOGO - MIMIC
Mimic Gogo doesn't really have a unique skill of his own. He just mimics other party members. The only skill he cannot mimic is Terra's Morph. In the Status page of Gogo, you can select what skill commands he can use, like Blitz, Tools, etc. If you just chose 'Mimic' in battle, Gogo just copy the move that was previously used by fellow party members. Here's a tip for you - have someone equip the Gem box and let him/her use 2 Ultima. Then have Gogo mimic immediately. Your enemies will then be hit by a total of 4 Ultima!
LOCKE COLE - STEAL/CAPTURE
Steal Even though Locke always says that he's not a thief, he does steal in battles =) His skill command 'Steal' lets you ( yep, you guessed it! ) steal from monsters. With this skill you get a lot of items, normal and rare, for absolutely free! When you equip him with the Thief Glove relic found in Zozo's Relic shop, he will steal and attack at the same time with the 'Capture' command.
MOG - DANCE
Dance Mog is a 'slam-dancing' moogle, so he creates a dance for every different environment he battles in. When you bring him to a new battle environment without using a dance he learned before in some other place, he'll create a new dance at the end of the battle. It's very kupo cool! Keep in mind that you loses control of Mog once he starts dancing until the end of the battle.
