Relm is from Thamasa, where the surviving Mage Warriors used to live about a thousand years ago. Relm is one of those Thamasa citizens who has inherited magic power from their ancestors. Relm is gifted at art, and in her sketches she can capture all essence of life. In fact, the paintings are so real that it has a tendency to come to life. For some reason, the painting likes to attack people. Relm used this to her advantage, of course. Everytime things don't go her way she just threatens to paint everyone's portrait so everyone will please her.

Relm's mother died when she was really young. Strago took care of her after her mother's death, since her father, Clyde, left Thamasa soon after she was born. Even though Relm calls Strago 'Gramps', he is not her biological grandfather. What Relm never knew was the identity of her father.

During the World of Ruins Relm was employed by the wealthiest man in Jidoor, Owzer, to paint protraits for him. He wasn't aware that Relm's paintings will come to life, so needless to say, it caused a lot of problems in his house =)

Relm is the best magic user in the game; she is only good at magic and nothing else =) Her 'Sketch' command is not really that good, and it is known to cause glitches in the game. 'Control' is a much better skill.
