It was time to show the Empire what the Returners are made of!Edgar first appeared in the game when Locke and Terra arrived at Figaro castle for help. Edgar, having heard rumors about a 'witch' from the Empire that could wield magic, agreed to protect her from the Empire. He assured her that she would be safe in the castle. His first impression on Terra was not exactly a great one; he was making flirtatious comments on Terra which Terra was not impress with ^^

Soon after, Kefka, having to endure the long walk across the desert and getting *sand* in his boots ( and cursing like a madman at the same time ^^ ), arrived at Figaro castle to get information on Terra's whereabouts. To avoid giving a straight answer, Edgar simply stated that there are 'more women here than grains of sand', and he couldn't keep track of them all ^^ . Kefka, enraged, left with his soldiers and hinted to Edgar that something bad would happen to his kingdom. After Kefka's departure, Edgar told Terra to rest while he and the Chancellor plan what they would do next.

The next day, Edgar was wakened by loud noises outside his room. He came out and saw that Kefka have started multiple fires around the castle as he threatened Edgar to hand over Terra immediately. Edgar refused, and escaped the castle with Locke and Terra using chocobos. Kefka stated how shameful Edgar was to leave his people behind. What Kefka didn't know was the secret behind Figaro Castle...before Kefka could do any more damage, the massive castle sunk underground, leaving kefka and his troops in the dust (hehe^^).

After a few battles, Edgar, Locke and Terra managed to escape to safety (and had Edgar freak out when he first saw Terra using magic ^^). Edgar and Locke suggested to Terra that she should meet their mentor - the leader of the Returners, Banon. Terra, who was uncertain on what to do, agreed to meet him. On the way to the Returner's hideout, they found a small house in a remote area, and Edgar noticed that everything in the house were favorite items of his long lost brother Sabin...
